Love it or hate it DStar is here.  CARA is currently working on getting the DStar system operational and should be on line in the south part of the city soon (we hope by Field Day).  Currently the system is at VE6CPU's QTH for testing the new gateway software.  As of June 23 it was mostly operational.  VE6CPU was successful at making a contact on the system with another ham in Texas.  A big thanks goes out to Aaron KE5KAF/VA6AE for spending an hour on the phone with me (VE6CPU) to get everything operational.

As time goes on look to this page for how to use the DStar system to its full potential.  While it may be fully operational the admins of the system are going to need some time before knowing all the in's and out's of what the system can do and how to do it.  If your experienced with DStar and know how to make it do all the tricks then your more than welcome to email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it with your knowledge.

Look to these pages for instructions on how to program your radio to use these features.

Thanks and 73
