Renovations are happing at VE6RYC.

As some are aware, the building is under renovations and antennas and equipment is being repaired or upgraded.

During the renovations VE6RYC 220 repeater and the 6 meter repeater will be out of commission. These repeaters will be reactivated as soon as feasibly possible. (Effective Aug. 10-11, 2008)

The VHF – UHF repeaters as well as the link system will also be affected during the renovations. I will try to keep the VHF system on line most of the time but HAM’S will find it off the air during the renovations at times.  This also depends on the temperature of the inside of the building.

Here is partial list of the items being done.

- Paint the inside of the site.

- Installing complete ground system

- Repair replace – repair electrical wiring

- Install new lighting (So we can see what we are fixing and playing with)

- Install new 6 meter antenna

- replace link antennas

- repair damaged coax

- Coax shield around pole

- Install computers and data system

- Install RLC 3 Controller with voice and macros

- Battery backup - charge system

- APRS System

- Waterproof roof

To all ham’s, please be patient !!! As all this takes time and the final product will be hopefully an improved system for maintenance and to complete the plans for the last 20 years.
